Sunday Guitar Practice #8
AAEAA hosted our first YouTube livestream event last week on Monday night – Adam, following along with Alex as he unpacks the step by step to making some tracks in Ableton Live. Part of the homework that Alex assigned me for the week was to identify a “sound” I’d like to include in my track as well as jotting down any directional ideas I have for this track I’ll be creating. Today’s Sunday Guitar Practice post features the guitar lick that I have in my mind for getting me started on this track… played at full speed, the lick whips by — it’s the very first thing you hear in this recording followed next by me slowing it down to tease out the notes, and then finally I’ve included a quick excerpt from a jam session I did with a backing track from YouTube (I was constantly looking for spots in the jam track to work in the lick):
As for sounds to be featured… not certain yet, but for now I’m planning to use this tone preset from my Fender GTX-100 amp — it’s called “SYNTH WIZ” (you can hear it on my guitar tone during the last part of the above practice clip):
